| Posts: 10 | I agree that we cannot be the world's policeman and that diplomacy should preceed force. However, in the case of Iraq, we tried for 10 years to get the UN to do their job and enforce the agreement that weapons inspectors be allowed free access to Iraqi records and facilities. That is enough diplomacy. The UN is worthless, and so are most of our "allies". I firmly believe that the invasion of Iraq was a proper thing to do. Staying as long as we did was not in our best interests. I think that the US has every right to expect something in return for our foreign aid - friendship for example. Giving foreign aid to Gaza is ridiculous. You are much too easy on the Islamic countries. They teach their children to hate us (non-Islamic people) from birth and openly declare their intention to control the world. Most of those countries will not allow any form of another religion, but they demand their right expand globally. I believe you contradict yourself when you say that we must not force our ways on other countries, but then say that we must force them to live under the same labor and environmental laws that we have. However, I agree with this requirement if there were a way to enforce it. |
